What Micronutrients Are and Why They Matter

Supplements Are Not a One-Size-Fits-All Solution

Over-the-counter multivitamins vary widely in what they contain and how bioavailable those nutrients are. Taking high doses of fat-soluble vitamins without medical supervision carries real risk, since they accumulate in tissue. Blood tests ordered by a clinician are the only reliable way to identify a genuine deficiency before deciding whether supplementation is appropriate.
